Sean Cocchia is Senior Vice President, Business Planning and Development, Disney Channels Worldwide, a role he was promoted to in June 2008. He was previously Vice President, Business Development (2005-2008) and Executive Director, Business Management (2004-2005) for Disney Channel U.S.
Cocchia is responsible for strategic oversight and business planning and with developing long-term vision and growth strategies for Disney Channels Worldwide, a portfolio of 94 kid-driven, family inclusive entertainment channels and/or channel feeds available in 163 countries in 32 languages, spanning Disney Channel, Toon Disney, Playhouse Disney, Disney Cinemagic, Hungama, GXT, Jetix and Radio Disney brands. He is also involved in evaluating new business opportunities, new channels, potential acquisitions and opportunities for business improvement. Additionally, he works closely with other divisions across The Walt Disney Company to formulate new opportunities and growth strategies for the kids' television business.
Cocchia joined The Walt Disney Company in July 1998 as a Senior Analyst in strategic planning division, focusing on the Company's International Television and Studio businesses. In that role, he worked on operating plans for new television initiatives for Walt Disney Television International, as well as evaluating and implementing new strategies and investments for the Studio's business units including Buena Vista Home Entertainment and Walt Disney Television Animation.
He previously served as an investment banking analyst with Credit Suisse First Boston's Media and Telecommunications Group, where he was charged with developing business models to determine the financial and market impacts of mergers, divestitures and financing for clients including The Walt Disney Company, Hearst-Argyle Television, The E.W. Scripps Company and Cox Enterprises.
Cocchia graduated magna cum laude from University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
